Tofu Coconut Curry & Some DimSum

Early Saturday afternoon, I went to Dimsum Go Go with some friends. We ordered the perfect amount of food. The savory turnip cakes were my favorite.
On the way to the vegetable stands, we passed a restaurant whose name says it all.
I got all the vegetables that I needed for a little over $5. The ripest stuff at the best prices. You can't go wrong buying produce in Chinatown.

Here they are unwashed and ready to go into the pot. I hear that heat kills e. coli.

Here's the liquid part of the coconut curry. What is fish sauce exactly? It's made from fish, but how? I didn't use too much of it. The minced mound in the forefront is ginger. There was a great ginger and scallion sauce at dim sum that morning.

My first time using Chinese firm tofu. They came in these pillow shapes. I let them rest and dry up on paper towels before frying them stiff. Here's the end product. I'll get the aftershots when I visit the hospital later to check up on hyuncher and james. Heat does not effectively kill e. coli.
